Winner Amber Vodegel (centre) with Anouska Ramsay from Capgemini UK (L) and host Lucy Porter (R)

Well PR helped client Amber Vodegel, COO and co-founder of Health & Parenting, win the inaugural Healthcare Award in the First Women Awards with a compelling entry.

The First Women Awards, held last week in association with the CBI and Real Business, is a distinguished programme that inspires the next generation, fuels entrepreneurial passion and galvanises women to be a force for change.

Amber won the award for Health & Parenting’s Pregnancy+ app, which is the world’s second most downloaded pregnancy app with more than 12 million downloads.

We were very pleased with the role we played in all of this. Apart from identifying the awards, Well PR kicked off the process with a convincing award entry. After Amber was shortlisted she attended a highly successful Q&A interview with the award judges and was subsequently named a finalist. Competition was fierce as Amber was up against seven other highly successful women, so the win was a real surprise on the night.

While we initiated the process, kudos to Amber and the Health & Parenting team for building such a successful company that makes a positive difference to the lives of millions of pregnant women and new parents worldwide. It’s a real success story and to see Amber recognised for it is very rewarding indeed.
